The Role

We are seeking a proactive Inspection Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough visual and mechanical inspections on completed work, ensuring that all products meet our high-quality standards. This role includes managing re-work processes, performing swarf removal, operating and maintaining the Pero cleaning machine, and conducting last-off inspections.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Visual & mechanical inspection:

• Conduct 100% visual inspection of large batch orders to ensure compliance with quality specifications.

• Perform mechanical inspection using various tools such as micrometres and vernier callipers, verifying dimensions and tolerances.

Swarf removal:

• Efficiently remove swarf and other debris from completed components.

Re-work Management:

• Identify defective products and manage the re-work process, ensuring that items are correct and meet quality standards before release to next stages.

Pero cleaning machine operation:

• Operate and maintain the Pero cleaning machine, ensuring it functions effectively and is kept in optimal condition

• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting as needed.

Last off inspection:

• Conduct final inspections (last off) on products prior to release, ensuring they meet the required standards.

SPC recorded check inspection:

• Utilise statistical process control (SPC) methods to perform recorded check inspections, contributing to continuous improvement in production quality.

Skills and Experience:

• Well versed in the use of visual and mechanical measuring equipment.

• Competent in reading technical engineering drawings.

• Integrates well within a team.

• Works well under pressure to deliver on deadlines.
